Transforming Delaware Valley Hospital into a Modern Assisted Living Facility

The former Delaware Valley Hospital at 1201 Wilson Ave., Bristol, PA, is being transformed into a modern assisted living facility. Following the completion of an adjacent two-story building renovation in 2022, we’re now in the final phase of converting the main five-story building into a residence with over 300 rooms.

The focus is on comfort and energy efficiency. We’ve insulated the exterior walls with 2.5 inches of closed-cell foam and the roof with 5.56 inches of open-cell foam. To ensure a quiet environment, we’ve also applied 3.5 inches of open-cell foam for soundproofing between units and in common areas.

This renovation is set to reduce the building’s energy consumption for heating and cooling by 80% compared to its previous use as a hospital. This effort not only benefits the environment by using less fuel but also enhances living comfort and reduces utility costs for future residents. This project highlights the potential for repurposing historic buildings into sustainable, state-of-the-art living spaces.
