One of the biggest challenges of this project was protecting the barn’s original wooden beams, which were to remain fully exposed to preserve the building’s authentic character. Every single beam was carefully wrapped in protective plastic before the application of spray foam—a meticulous process that required time, patience, and attention to detail.

We applied spray foam insulation to the roofs and walls, taking care to seal around each beam while maintaining the building’s structural and visual integrity. Once sprayed, the foam quickly expanded into every cavity and gap, forming a continuous thermal barrier that enhances energy efficiency and protects the wood from future moisture damage.

Comfort for Modern Use

Although initially built for cattle, this barn is now being repurposed for modern use, and spray foam insulation played a key role in making the space comfortable for guests. It’s safe to say the cows never had it this good! The upgraded insulation will regulate temperature year-round, reduce energy costs, and ensure the building remains dry and durable—even during significant and lively events.
