We installed open-cell spray foam throughout the first and second floors, attic, and basement rim joist areas. Open-cell foam was selected for its excellent air-sealing properties and ability to create a continuous thermal envelope.

Once installed, the difference in tightness compared to the pre-renovation condition was stark. The home now benefits from significantly reduced air leakage and improved overall comfort.

Results

With spray foam insulation in place, the home now maintains more consistent indoor temperatures while reducing strain on the HVAC system. The upgraded insulation transformed the building envelope into a high-performance system rather than a loosely insulated structure.
